Status: Full-time, permanent
Compensation: $22.00 + $2.00 WEG + $4.00 CWELCC

Position Summary
The Educator (Qualified) plans and delivers developmentally appropriate programming that supports children’s learning, development, and well-being in accordance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and provincial pedagogical frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in reflective practice to evaluate and enhance teaching approaches, interactions, and overall program quality, in alignment with the Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) requirements of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
- Uphold the CECE Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, demonstrating professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity in all interactions.
- Foster inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive learning environments.
- Collaborate with families, community partners, and colleagues to support children’s learning and development.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date documentation in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
- Implement curriculum aligned with How Does Learning Happen?, ELECT, and play-based pedagogical approaches.
- Provide consistent supervision and care to ensure children’s safety and well-being.
- Observe, document, and assess children’s development and learning.
- Support daily routines including meal service, toileting, and transitions, including assisting with kitchen duties as required.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom and learning environment.
- Provide one-to-one support for children as required.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with colleagues and families.
- Maintain health and safety standards in accordance with legislation and organizational policies.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate learning experiences.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with the CCEYA and How Does Learning Happen? framework.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children and families.
- Ensure a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Participate in professional development and reflective practice.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance program quality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE), or an equivalent qualification recognized under the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA).
- Strong knowledge of How Does Learning Happen?, ELECT, and play-based pedagogical approaches.
- Excellent skills in observation, communication, and documentation.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality programming, safety, and the overall well-being of children.
- Bilingualism in French and English is mandatory.
