The ECE Student works directly with children while completing their studies in Early Childhood Education. Working alongside educators and the site team, the ECE Student helps create a safe, inclusive, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, play, and grow. This position is a great opportunity to put classroom learning into practice, develop professional skills, and gain meaningful hands-on experience in a licensed childcare setting.

Responsibilities
  • Support the active supervision, safety, and well-being of children.
  • Work alongside educators to plan and provide activities based on children’s interests, strengths, and needs.
  • Help create a welcoming, inclusive, positive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Build caring and respectful relationships with children, families, and team members.
  • Observe children and contribute to documentation of their learning and development.
  • Use positive guidance strategies to support behaviour, self-regulation, and social-emotional development.
  • Participate in daily routines, meals, transitions, and personal care as required by the program.
  • Learn and apply the principles of How Does Learning Happen?, ELECT, and Magic Triangle’s Program Statement.
  • Follow the CCEYA, Magic Triangle policies and procedures, and health and safety requirements.
  • Participate in coaching, feedback, mentorship, and professional learning opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a recognized Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma or degree program.
  • Demonstrated interest in child development and early learning.
  • Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and work under the guidance of experienced team members.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable, responsible, and able to demonstrate professionalism when working with children and families.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification, or willingness to obtain it based on position requirements.
  • Ability to provide a valid Vulnerable Sector Check in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
